Yes, which is why I said future soft forks. A better way to state this would be:
Future Script programmers would no longer need to consider SCRIPT_VERIFY_MINIMAL_DATA when writing their Scripts. “Legacy” Script programmers will always need to consider them for policy reasons - unless for some reason policy changes (and I don’t see why it would).
