Overall this approach serves to allow A to be spent with a specific spend of B. However, B can still be spent elsewhere, and is still subject to third-party malleability (e.g. scriptSig NOP injection).
So while A can be sure it is spent with B or none-other, B could be caused to be spent spuriously as long as someone is willing to e.g. front the money to pay for whatever other outputs.
