Introspection or Not? Why Ordinals Are the Ultimate L1 Battleground

Astrolabe’s state-binding? I just pulled up an astrolabe image to make sure I read the right word.

anchored directly into the Taproot tweak.

This tweak is a tagged hash of the internal public key and the Merkle root.

  • Tag = "TapTweak"
  • Data = internal_pubkey || merkle_root

Taproot | Technical Explanation

So what you can “anchor” is whatever goes into the Merkle root. The least we can assume is that you compute a state Merkle root and commit it there, but as stated, that’s not a clear claim.

the topology altered

For a state machine there are no interesting topologies by default: the trivial one gives no real insight as long as every state is reachable. For such a claim, you’d need to specify which topology you’re referring to; “the topology” in the abstract doesn’t carry meaning here.

Finally, your question about introspection is at best poorly framed and at worst a useless question. Either the introspection is demonstrated by “Simplicity Unchained” itself, or it requires a specific opcode you’d need to advocate for. Bitcoin doesn’t need introspection, sending satoshis doesn’t require it by design. Maybe you need introspection; then that’s your problem to solve.
