The exact pin will indeed rely on exact mempool conditions, which is why I mostly just said “5x max” in my BIP text

But then why would you use an ephemeral anchor which can be maliciously pinned by anyone instead of a normal anchor with a checksig? Why make the attackers able to attack more stuff?
